URGENT please help!!!?

I got a baby swordtail (1.5cm) from my friend. In my tank i have 2 guppies, an angel, a ruby shark, 2 adf's, a gold honey gourami, 1 platy, 2 plecos, 1 crimson loach, and 1 fully grown male swordtail. I am keeping the baby in a floating container in the tank with slits in the side to let water filter through. It keeps escaping, will it be ok in the tank with the other fish? should i cover the intake on my tetra whisper pf10 power filter?
