Is the gap year in the ADF worth it?

I was wondering iif anyone could give me some insight as to what is involved in the gap year, like what things are involved in a typical day. Im starting yr 12 this year and will apply when the enlistment opens. Also is there any part of the gap year that allows you to do firefighting? or is it only navy and infantry?
